In the barangay of Sapal, San Lorenzo; Rosie, Victoria and Nelida weave a history of tradition and culture. Using Barios, Buri and Wild Pandan the women weave on the ground to be closer to Earth. It is culturally known that women weave as a source of income. Their techniques involve using their hands and feet. AbanEco work closely with the women in this community to empower gender equality and fair trade.
The Women of Basey complete the full circle of weaving. They are involved in the planting, harvesting, processing, dying, drying and flattening of the TIkog grass. Once woven, the women continue to work with AbanEco values in ensuring the our products comeplete the full circle of fair trade. a
